Raphinha Hat-Trick Powers Barcelona to Seven-Goal La Liga Win
Thebangladaily.com – Barcelona delivered another overwhelming attacking display at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday night, defeating newly promoted Racing Santander 7-2 to remain firmly in control at the top of La Liga.
Brazilian winger Raphinha was the standout performer, scoring three times as Hansi Flick’s side extended their winning start to six league matches. The result left Barcelona on 18 points, three clear of Real Madrid, while Racing remained 10th with seven points.
Fast Start Sets the Tone
The home side needed only eight minutes to make their first breakthrough. João Cancelo struck from around 25 yards, sending a long-range effort past the Racing goalkeeper and giving Barcelona an early advantage.
Raphinha then increased the lead in the 22nd minute from the penalty spot. Racing Santander briefly showed resilience when midfielder Gueye scored in the 30th minute, reducing the deficit and offering the visitors a route back into the contest.
That hope did not last long. An own goal from Asier Villalibre in the 36th minute restored Barcelona’s two-goal margin. Before the interval, Dani Olmo created another opening for Raphinha, whose finish in the 42nd minute made it 4-1 at half-time.
Barcelona Respond Again After Racing Goal
Racing found a second goal in the 65th minute through Yaser Zabiri, but Barcelona reacted almost immediately. Two minutes later, Raphinha converted another penalty to complete his hat-trick and remove any remaining doubt about the outcome.
The treble took Raphinha to 11 goals in seven appearances in all competitions this season, underlining the influential role he has played in Barcelona’s prolific opening stretch.
Barcelona continued to press for more despite their comfortable lead. Gabriel Jesus, introduced from the bench, scored his first La Liga goal in the 79th minute after being released by Lamine Yamal’s through ball.
Yamal had already seen an effort disallowed for offside in the 72nd minute, but the young attacker still finished the evening on the scoresheet. In the 89th minute, he met a cutback from Adeyemi to complete the 7-2 victory.
Yamal Extends Strong Run
The late strike was Yamal’s seventh goal of the domestic campaign and extended his scoring run to five straight matches across all competitions. His contribution, along with Raphinha’s finishing and Barcelona’s attacking depth, highlighted the variety available to Flick’s team.
For Racing Santander, the two goals offered some encouragement against the league leaders, particularly after they had pulled Barcelona’s lead back on two occasions. Yet the visitors were unable to contain the hosts for sustained periods, and Barcelona’s speed in responding to setbacks proved decisive.
Another Statement From La Liga Leaders
Barcelona have now scored at least five goals in five of their seven matches this season. Their total stands at 33 goals scored and only seven conceded, a record that reflects both their attacking intensity and their ability to maintain momentum after taking control of matches.
The victory also reinforced Barcelona’s strong position in the title race at this early stage. Six consecutive league wins have given Flick’s side a three-point cushion over Real Madrid, with the team combining individual form with a consistently high output in front of goal.
Raphinha’s hat-trick will take much of the attention, but the result was also shaped by contributions throughout the side. Cancelo opened the scoring, Olmo supplied an assist, Jesus made an immediate impact as a substitute, and Yamal both created and scored in another productive performance.
Barcelona’s challenge will be to sustain this level over the months ahead, but their opening sequence has set a formidable standard. For now, the Camp Nou crowd witnessed another emphatic display from a side that has made scoring freely a defining feature of its campaign.
